Dr. Sadaf Bashir Khan is a Professor in the School of Manufacturing Science and Engineering at Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST), China. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, one of the world's leading institutions in engineering and materials research. During her doctoral studies, she was awarded several prestigious honors, including the Comprehensive Scholarship, the Guorui Scholarship from the 14th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, and the Best Dissertation Award. She was further recognized with the Outstanding Excellent Postdoctoral Inbound Award from Shenzhen University. Dr. Khan's research focuses on advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, with particular emphasis on additive manufacturing, optoelectronic materials, functional materials, and sustainable manufacturing systems. Her work aims to bridge the fields of materials science and advanced manufacturing to develop innovative solutions for emerging technological and global sustainability challenges. She has established an outstanding academic record, publishing more than 77 peer-reviewed scientific articles, including over 30 first-author publications, with a cumulative journal impact factor exceeding 300. Her scholarly contributions also include book chapters, authorized patents, and numerous collaborative research projects. Her research excellence has been recognized through multiple provincial and municipal high-level talent awards in Sichuan Province, as well as the prestigious Dongguan Special Talent Award. In addition to her research achievements, Dr. Khan actively contributes to the international scientific community through editorial and peer-review activities. She serves as Guest Editor for several leading international journals, including Discover Applied Sciences and Molecules. Her commitment to maintaining high standards in scholarly publishing has been acknowledged through distinguished professional recognitions, including the Springer Nature Outstanding Reviewer Award (2021) and the Trusted Reviewer Award. Through her interdisciplinary research and leadership in advanced manufacturing, Dr. Khan continues to contribute significantly to the development of next-generation materials, additive manufacturing technologies, and sustainable engineering solutions.
